Privacy Policy

Zentro is a desktop SQL IDE developed and maintained by Nguyen Hoai Nam, an individual developer based in Vietnam. References to "Zentro," "we," "us," or "our" in this policy refer to this individual and the services operated at zentro-ide.com.

We collect only what is necessary to deliver and protect your license. The following data may be collected when you use the Zentro app or website:

• Email address — collected when you activate Pro Early Access or restore a license to a new device. Used solely for license management and transactional emails.
• Installation ID — a random UUID generated by the Zentro app when first launched. Uniquely identifies your installation; not linked to you personally unless you provide an email.
• Machine hash (optional) — a one-way hash of hardware identifiers on your device. Used to enforce license restrictions and detect unauthorized transfers. Never transmitted in plain text.
• Platform and architecture — your operating system (e.g. Windows) and CPU architecture (e.g. x64), sent with each app check-in.
• App version — the version of Zentro you are running, used for compatibility tracking.
• Activity timestamps — the first and most recent time your installation checked in with our servers (heartbeat). Used for aggregated usage analytics.
• Pro feature usage (Early Access only) — while your installation has active Pro Early Access, we log which Pro capability keys it invokes (for example, type-to-confirm, sandbox preview, or schema rollback) and when. This is collected only during Early Access and used solely, in aggregate, to evaluate which Pro features to keep or improve.
• IP address — your IP address is captured in standard server access logs on every request.
• Hashed IP (SHA-256) — a one-way hash of your IP address is stored separately for download analytics. The raw IP is not retained for analytics purposes.
• User agent — your browser's user agent string when downloading Zentro from the website.

We do not collect your database credentials, query contents, or any data from databases you connect to. All SQL queries run locally on your machine.

If you are in the European Economic Area, our legal basis for collecting and processing personal data is:

• Contract performance — email address and installation data are necessary to deliver the Pro license you requested.
• Legitimate interests — installation tracking, activity timestamps, and server logs are used to prevent abuse, enforce license terms, and maintain service reliability. Our interests do not override your rights.
• Consent — by submitting your email for Early Access, you consent to receiving license-related transactional emails.

We use the data we collect exclusively for:

• Activating and restoring your Pro license
• Sending transactional emails (magic links, activation confirmations)
• Enforcing license terms (identifying installations, preventing unauthorized use)
• Monitoring service health and debugging server issues
• Producing aggregated, anonymized download statistics
• Evaluating which Pro features to prioritize, based on aggregated usage during Pro Early Access

We do not use your data for advertising or marketing profiling. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party. During Pro Early Access, we log which Pro features an installation uses, in aggregate, solely to evaluate the Pro feature set — never for advertising, and never sold or shared with third parties.

Certain personal data is shared with the following third parties as part of delivering the service:

• Lemon Squeezy (payment processor) — when you subscribe to Pro, your email address and a device identifier are sent to Lemon Squeezy to create your subscription. Lemon Squeezy processes payments and stores billing records on our behalf. See Lemon Squeezy's Privacy Policy.
• Resend (transactional email) — your email address is sent to Resend to deliver license-related emails such as magic links. See Resend's Privacy Policy.
• Sentry (error monitoring, optional) — if enabled via server configuration, error traces from the Zentro backend may be sent to Sentry. No personal data is intentionally included in error payloads.

No other third parties receive your personal data. We do not use Google Analytics, Mixpanel, or any third-party analytics platform on the Zentro website or app.

• Customer and subscription records — retained while your account is active and for up to 2 years thereafter, to handle billing disputes and license restoration requests.
• Email verification tokens — automatically deleted 15 minutes after creation or immediately upon use, whichever comes first.
• Server access logs (including raw IP addresses) — retained for up to 90 days, then deleted.
• Hashed download analytics — retained indefinitely. Because a one-way hash is used, re-identification is not possible.
• Pro feature usage events — retained in aggregate for as long as needed to evaluate the Pro feature set; deleted along with your installation record upon a deletion request.

If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights over your personal data:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Rectification — correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Erasure — request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
• Restriction — ask us to limit how we process your data in certain circumstances.
• Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
• Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests.

Zentro's website does not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or advertising cookies. We do not use any cookie-based analytics or retargeting tools. No cookie consent banner is required because no non-essential cookies are set.

Zentro is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child, contact us immediately and we will delete it.

When this policy changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Material changes will be noted in the Zentro changelog. Continued use of Zentro after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
